our philosophy

We believe in a truly holistic, well-rounded approach to health. This means no quick fixes, no fad diets, and no short cuts. Restrictive or calorie deficit diets can be effective in the short term, however they in most cases lead to a regain of the weight originally lost, with additional weight gain on top of this. This is simply because these diets don’t attempt to address the underlying factors that led to the original weight gain, improve our knowledge about food, and are not sustainable in the long term. After the diet concludes, most people will revert back to their old habits leading to additional weight gain.

The most effective way of achieving sustained weight loss and good health in the long term is by fixing our relationship with food, and by creating new habits and forming new behaviours. It’s also important to address other factors including psychological, lifestyle factors, sleep hygiene and exercise.

Feeling healthy shouldn’t be a burden or an unrealistic expectation. Food was created to be enjoyed. However in recent times there has been a shift away from diets full of nutrient dense whole foods, to highly processed, caloric dense foods. This coupled by the ever-increasing ease of access to these foods and our physical environment has made it increasingly difficult to maintain a healthy relationship with food.

We are passionate about helping you cultivate a positive and healthy relationship with food. This is why adopting a holistic approach to health is key, as it allows us to develop a greater insight into our habits, our relationship with food, the science behind the nutrition and how food interacts with our gut and mood, and the psychological components which can lead to overeating and undernourishment.
