ndis

Our Dietitians are trained to provide services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We adopt a person centred approach, offering practical and individualised advice and interventions to help our clients meet their individual goals and needs. Our goal is to provide support to people living with disabilities and help them to achieve optimal independence, health and quality of life.  We are able to provide Dietetics support under the NDIS to those who are:

  • Self-Managed

  • Plan Managed

When NDIS participants choose to see a Registered Dietitian, participants can claim the cost of services from the following categories:

  • Core Supports - Assistance with Daily Life (Category 01)

  • Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing (Category 12),

  • Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living (Category 15)

A service agreement will be prepared and signed prior to your initial consultation with the Dietitian. Initial consultations take around 60 minutes. Review consultations range from 30-60 minutes.

The type of support our Dietitians provide will vary depending on the individual needs and goals of participants. Types of services include but are not limited to one-off nutrition assessments, regular reviews to provide ongoing support, or yearly reviews. Our Dietitians will assist clients to create a support plan that is specific to the individual dietary needs of the client; which is  aimed at improving overall health and wellbeing, functional independence, building capacity and self-efficacy,  and providing practical advice and solutions to clients.

Our Dietitians are able to provide high levels of quality care and support to NDIS participants, which includes professional report writing, and liaising with support coordinators and plan managers as required.

When calculating the total number of hours required for Dietetic support, we factor in several aspects of care including face-to-face consultations, and additional time required for dietary analysis, nutritional requirements and feed calculations, travel requirements, report writing, resource development, and liaising with other care providers.  Our fees are calculated in accordance with the most current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2011-22.
